Artist's Comments
The Gemini Observatory consists of twin 8-meter optical/infrared telescopes. Gemini South Located in Chili and Gemini North located on Mauna Kea in Hawaii. Together these telescopes can access the entire sky.
Finished in 1999, Gemini North is one of the newest telescopes on Mauna Kea. Using advanced Laser Guide Star technology, the astronomers can effectively cancel out the atmosphere. 10/06/08 Nikon D200 20mm f/2.8 ISO 1600 30s X 170 1.5 hour effective exposure Pclix LT100 Comments
