My Dad volunteers at the Mauna Kea visitor center. He helps give tours of the skys and telescopes. While he was doing his job I expored the nearby hills. Hikeing up steep slops with camera gear at over 9k feet I came upon a peak close to sunset. Here is where i found this cairn magicly aligned with the moon.
Edit: Sharpend. Comments
it made me laugh. its funny because the rocks look like a pile of dung but the color scheme is great ^^ *thumbs up*
-- I reject your reality and substitute my own... [link] all bloodtypes welcome... Wow, I like the composition and the general idea of it very much! The title is perfect for this picture, I love the idea of earth reaching towards heavens...excellent job!
Are those clouds down there? -- I could not agree more, those are the reasons why i debated submited it for quite some time. The bigest problem is that the moon is at infinity and the rocks are not and I did not have a tripod with me. I batted for quite some time with shutterspeed and apature to try and get both in focus. Looking back i might have been able to increase te iso but i just hate grain. What you see here is my best attempt at geting both in focus.
-- Alex M. My Gallery very cool shot - don't hate my but the mountain looks like a piece of dung
